Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Just got home from a great week in Vegas. I’ll be blogging about some of the spots, eats, and poker tournaments I tried out over the next few weeks. I’ll also be blogging about the beautiful Platinum Hotel and Spa, with rooms so nice you just might not want to leave.

Unique videos of surf, snow and hikes on Vancouver Island.

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Yes, Vancouver Island is without a doubt (in my mind at least) Canada’s outdoor playground, and it would take a hell of a long time to run out of things to do here (three years in, my list keeps getting longer). Here are a few video glimpses of different adventurer’s experiences on Canada’s West Coast.

Brambles Market takes the legwork out of the equation, bringing the best of BC under one roof in the quaint downtown of Courtenay in the Comox Valley.

I think the best tests for buying locally come at this point of the winter, when much of Canada’s “fresh” produce was picked last summer and fall and is looking a little aged and worse for wear from both storage and travel. But looking over Brambles produce section, I was impressed to see a wide variety of fresh produce, growing right now all over Vancouver Island, both outdoors and in greenhouses. (more…)
